The Line-frequency induction copper melting furnace is primarily used for melting bronze, brass, and other copper alloys. When paired with other related machines, it forms a complete production line for manufacturing copper rods, tubes, strips, and more. These products are widely utilized in industries such as electric wires, cables, electronics, lock manufacturing, water heating equipment, and refrigeration.
The induction furnace consists of several key components, including the furnace shell, refractory lining, insulation bricks, refractory bricks, iron core, induction coil, water jacket, and power cabinet.
The power frequency melting and holding furnace operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction. When an AC voltage is applied, the induction coil generates an alternating magnetic field. This magnetic field induces a current in the core material, creating a closed magnetic circuit (typically using silicon steel sheets, such as Z10). The alternating magnetic flux induces an electromotive force in the melting channel, which generates secondary currents. These currents pass through the resistance of the metal raw material, converting electrical energy into heat energy, thus melting the metal.
The melting and holding furnace includes the furnace body, furnace frame, inductor, hydraulic system, and other components. The melting channel inside the inductor is designed horizontally. The furnace features hydraulic tilt mechanisms on both sides for easy and safe mold replacement in the crystallizer.
The entire furnace is constructed using a combination of quartz sand and firebrick masonry. During assembly, precise positioning of the crystallizer ensures the correct alignment with a single-hole furnace mouth, preventing issues related to furnace rebuilding and misalignment.
The front side of the furnace is equipped with door bricks, mouth bricks, crystallizer components, and furnace panel devices. The furnace's induction coils are water-cooled and insulated with a layer of mica tape and double fiberglass tape wrapped around flat copper tubes. The water jacket is constructed from 3mm 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel plates.
The water cooling system ensures optimal operation, with the inlet water pressure to the inductor being no less than 0.4 MPa. During the smelting process, the inlet water temperature should not exceed 25°C, and the outlet temperature should not exceed 55°C. Frequent testing of water flow is essential, and if the flow falls below the required level, scale buildup must be cleaned.
